ACE

An exploration of asexual love in the modern age on 120mm.

Alexa, pictured here, identifies as asexual.

Her fiancé, Adam, does not.

I’ve known Alexa and Adam both as individuals and as a couple since we were 16. We attended high school together in North Carolina.

Since that age I’ve known them only as the most made-for-each other, innately compatible people anyone could imagine.

It wasn’t until recently that Alexa illuminated for me the complexity of their relationship and recent engagement, explaining that she was asexual.

I joy everyday in watching my brilliant friends thrive in a non-traditional romantic relationship.

In my eyes, Alexa and Adam embody the twenty first century redefinition of love, romance, sensuality, and marriage.

Alexa will always be a pillar of strength and wisdom in my mind and heart.

A partnership with the strength of theirs can withstand anything.

A love like theirs has the power to affect change in themselves and in their world.
